Wie die Steine (just like stones)

2024, reading performance, 4 metronomes set in different dynamics, approx. 15 min

The performative reading "Wie die Steine (just like stones)" delves into the symbolism and physical presence of cairns—those human-made piles or stacks of stones—while simultaneously exploring broader themes of (mis)communication and transformation.  It reflects on the (mis)understandings that arise between people, on the varying nature of solid masses, whether as aggregates of minerals or mineraloid matter, and on the process of Pokémon evolution.
At the heart of the performance are four metronomes, whose steady beats shape the reading’s structure and pace. Their rhythmic pulses act as both a guide and an anchor, creating an auditory experience that intensifies the exploration of these themes and language itself.
